Police say officers staking out a Dorchester store-robbery suspect nab him in a carjacking
Boston Police report officers keeping an eye on Trevor Clarke, wanted for several armed holdups of Dorchester convenience stores, nabbed him last night when he forced somebody out of a car at gunpoint and tried to drive off.
Clarke, 24, is charged with holding up the Ashmont 7-Eleven on Feb. 1 and is a suspect in several other armed robberies, police say.
Police say gang-unit officers and C-11 detectives in a stakeout at his home at Glenrose Road and Adams Street, noticed him leave his house around 6:45 p.m. when a car pulled up outside - and then get in the passenger side:
In short time, officers watched the operator of the vehicle quickly and frantically exit the car and sprint away from the vehicle. When the suspect, now in the driver’s side of the vehicle, attempted to drive off at a high rate of speed, officers moved in and blocked his effort to escape the area. Officers immediately instructed the operator to exit the vehicle. After the suspect was placed in handcuffs, a search of the car enabled officers to locate and confiscate a long-barreled firearm with a brown handleound resting on the passenger side floor. It should be noted that the hammer of the firearm, described as a Taurus .357 Magnum 1NT, was in the cocked position. When asked if the gun belonged to him, the suspect stated, “Yes.”
Clarke was charged with carjacking, armed robbery, unlawful possession of a firearm, unlawful possession of ammunition and carrying a loaded firearm on a public way, police say, adding he is also wanted on outstanding warrants for identity theft and fraudulent use of a credit car.
Innocent, etc.

Good job BPD ...
BPD
These guys constantly prove how good they are. I hope all know how lucky we are to have this police dept. a phone call away.
According to this week's
According to this week's Dorchester Reporter, a convenience store a couple of blocks down the street (Mass Market at 1732 Dot. Ave.) was robbed 9 times (not a typo) in recent months; looks like someone was using the place as their personal ATM. Hopefully this arrest will help.
Twice in one night
Pretty sure it's the same guy but there have been convenient stores, gas stations and dry cleaners all hit between Peabody Sq and Centre Street. The police responded to an armed robbery at a dry cleaners and it was hit again a little later on that same evening. From what I heard the cops knew who it was it was but had to catch him in the act and it sounds like they had him under watch and did just that. Kudos to the BPD and I'm glad nobody was hurt in any of the robberies before they caught him.
Nine times. And that's just
Nine times. And that's just one convenience store. Dorchester Ave has been getting terrorized for weeks. Took an awful long time to get an arrest.
