Poor wet bird in Cambridge

Gedalia Pasternak spotted this bird in his front yard in Inman Square today; reports the bird was like that for at least ten minutes.

Walking around my neighborhood the last few weeks, I've started to see, and hear, the annual proliferation of cardinals. More specifically, the _male_ cardinals doing their "Hey bay-BEE, I got whatcher looking for here! C'mon, bay-BEE! Got it goin' ON!"
