I met some runners from the UK and Oregon last week. Hope that people were able to finish and bested their times. Bet those silver blankets at the first aid booth felt really good after coming over the finish line

Curiosity, what made you post about the Japanese man who won but not the American women. The first in 33 years!

I think I may know why, I’m just embarrassed to say it.

Sad fact of life at Universal Hub: I depend on the kindness of strangers. One person was kind enough to send me a photo of the men's winner. Had somebody sent me a photo of the women's winner, I would have posted that.

The pro-Japanese, anti-American slant of this blog has been well-documented.

Adam has been very quiet on the rash of thefts from the underwear machines along Meiji Street in Boston's Sister City; Osaka recently.

... Boston's sister city is actually Kyoto. ;-)

San Francisco is (or was) Osaka's sister city in the US.

My bad. It has been 40 years since Jordan Marsh did their whole Orient Expressed campaign. I had forgot it was Kyoto, not Osaka.

It was 31 years since a Japanese man won. I know 33 is bigger, but surely 31 is worth something.

I, for one, always appreciate your posts, Adam and Unviversal Hub. Keep up the good work running the good race!

A real scoop would be pictures of him completing the Scituate Marathon on New Years Day in subzero temps.

In either case, it is a good thing it was New Year's Day and not three days later. He'd have needed a surf board.

He was the only one to finish and he slipped on the ice on the track just before the finish line.

There were two finishers in the division.

And for those who will discount a 5:45:00 marathon time, I would ask you what your personal best is.

3:00 in Boston.

But running for 6 hours in those conditions is impressive, no matter how much distance you cover.
