South Shore racist still driving around flashing stupid signs at drivers with more melanin than her

Two years ago, we reported on this South Shore witch who had the power to divine immigrants and who would flash signs - while driving next to them - demanding to see their green cards. Turns out she's still at it. Ryl Lei reports on her Friday commute and an encounter at a stop light in Braintree:

Driving home from work today in Braintree I NEVER in my life thought i would encounter someone like this. I’m not naive and clearly know “they” exist.. but I never thought while sitting at a stop light enjoying the fact it’s the end of the week....I’d turn my head and see the ignorance IN MY FACE... LITERALLY WITH PURE INTENT!! I almost lost myself and followed her... but because my son and his friend was in the back seat I had to educate them about what type of society we actually live in despite what I try to protect him from.

Her account includes photos of some of the signs.

Does the South Shore witch show her green card?

...flashed a sign that says "show me your tits." The humor would be lost on her as she looks like an angry Irish Catholic gone wrong smdh.

Ever react to something when you should have been paying attention? I'm guessing "like, all the time".

If asked, I'm sure she will "rationally" explain that gay children seduced the accused pedophile priests.

How many Shiva stickers on the back of the car?

WHY does Massachusetts allow cultists to have special license plates?
Would that not be a blatant violation of separation of church and state?
See the back of the woman's car from another engagement reported online.

How is a prolife plate a church?

The so-called "prolife" position is intimately tied to Catholic theology.

Why is anyone allowed to block out their windows with anything - be it a giant BABY ON BOARD sign or Stuffed Animals/Hats or this word salad sandwich?

On the plus side, the car screams at you CRAZY DRIVER CRAZY DRIVER CRAZY DRIVER like one of those poisonous bugs.

Why is anyone allowed to block out their windows with anything

Because freedom.

By law, though, if both your side mirrors are operational, you can obliterate your rear window with anything from a spare tire, to louvers, to the US flag.

Mass General Laws Chapter 90. s. 9D

No person shall operate any motor vehicle upon any public way or upon any way to which the public shall have the right of access with any of the following affixed thereto:

(1) a sign, poster or sticker on the front windshield, the side windows immediately adjacent to the operator's seat and the front passenger seat, the side windows immediately to the rear of the operator's seat and the front passenger seat and the rear window in such a manner so as to obstruct, impede or distort the vision of the operator..

If I do not put an Uber sticker in my rear window when working, I am fined 500 dollars if caught.

I brought it up to my insurance agent out of sheer curiousity and my agent said as long as my side mirrors are working then my vision is not impeded.

Which is to say, insurability. Pete is speaking from a different perspective, which is to say ticketability. Your agent may be happy to take your money to insure a car that can get a ticket, such as a car with the rear window blocked.

Here's the relevant part: "in such a manner so as to obstruct, impede or distort the vision of the operator." It's like the previous sentence which says it's not okay to place a sticker "immediately adjacent" to the passenger or driver seat in the side window - but you can put one in the front corner of that window.

The sticker can be affixed to the back window in such a way as not to obstruct, impede, or distort your vision. That's why Uber tells you to place the sticker in the bottom corner of the passenger side, not smack dab in the middle or on the driver's side. If you affix it in such a manner that it obstructs, impedes, or distorts your vision, you're doing it wrong.

And I can't find the case law but if both mirrors can see the highway behind you (which I'm not sure if that's true because how much can side mirrors actually see?

I believe it is why you can see vans have curtains over the rear view mirror, but they often have larger side mirrors? I'm not 100% sure on that one, tougher to find the case law than it is the actual statute.

And there are plenty of vehicles either without any rear windows (tractor trailers, RVs, buses) or where the rear window may exist in the original vehicle design but has been obscured by after-market changes (pickup truck with a box in place of the truck bed).

Pete's quoted a surprisingly clear law that doesn't take a hour to parse. That law referred to, in simpler terms, making the of seeing through your rear mirror difficult. An Uber sticker does not do that.

While I don't often agree with Pete I owe him thanks for finding this clear statement.

This section shall not apply to:

(2) the use of draperies, louvers, or other special window treatments, except those specifically designated in this section, on the rear window, or a side window to the rear of the driver if the vehicle is equipped with two outside mirrors, one on each side, adjusted so that the driver has a clear view of the highway behind the vehicle.

Probably what his insurance agent is talking about. Not sure if a "tire" or "flag" would count though.

"in such a manner so as to obstruct, impede or distort the vision of the operator" is a large enough hole in this statute to drive that crazy lady's car through.

Is something I would never endorse nor would I ever suggest somebody break the law, however if someone was to leave her car on four cinder blocks and remove her tires I would not lose any sleep over it.

Here's Roman, offering a cryptic defense of the (alleged) right-wing shitheel, couched as a defense of moral principles. Anybody want to offer me odds on the upvotes coming from Russian botnet IPs?

up
Voting closed 0

I am in fact not offering a cryptic defense of anything.

I am offering a full-throated defense of the idea that anyone and everyone, including people who say nasty things, have a right to not have their tires slashed or be otherwise physically accosted. You don't have to agree, you do get to talk back (with words) but you do not get to silence with fists or knives.

That used to be called a bedrock principle of liberal democracy. It also used to be simple self-preservation: don't rile up unstable people because once they're done burning the witch you called out, they'll burn you in due time. But that was before. Now civil disagreement is just Russian trolling. Just like insistence on evidence for accusations is literally rape.

Did it ever occur to you that the Russian Trolls(TM) are playing you too?

The conspirators’ alleged activities did not exclusively adopt one ideological view; they wrote on topics from varied and sometimes opposing perspectives. Members of the conspiracy were directed, among other things, to create “political intensity through supporting radical groups” and to “aggravate the conflict between minorities and the rest of the population.” The actors also developed playbooks and strategic messaging documents that offered guidance on how to target particular social groups, including the timing of messages, the types of news outlets to use, and how to frame divisive messages.

As a lifelong Catholic, a Pope coming out for gays ("who am I to judge?") Against President Trump's border wall (40 foot walls around the Vatican) is enough to give up the faith.

Sending the pedophile Cardinal McCarrick to a sunset burial ceremony for despicable Senator Ted Kennedy? Hiding Cardinal "Bernie the Pimp" Law in a mansion in Rome?

This woman should just put on a couple of Trump stickers. Trump is pro-life, no pedophilia, in favor of border wall and more law and order than the Vatican.

If there are any vital messages in Genesis there are two:

There will always be powerful people oppressing others.
God favors those who are last. The least powerful.

In our society, that is still blacks, women, gays, mentally ill, prisoners and anyone else who does not have the advantages of power and wealth.

Of course someone will point at the wealthy women, wealthy gays, wealthy blacks, etc. And prisoners. Why should they receive any kind of favor?

Because the wealthy people are the exceptions and prisoners are usually in prison for reasons that extend way beyond their fundamental nature. But that requires understanding why people turn to criminal behavior, recognizing that some criminalities are themselves failures (philosophies of prohibition of alcohol in the early 20th century), social and economic factors, as well as personal psychological reasons.

One of my favorites is that despite the ever-present injustices in the world, the first thing to do when you fall flat on your face is ask whether you could have done something to avoid before assuming that someone else tripped you.

Maybe someone did, but could you have avoided it? And what's the best use of your time? Getting back at him and everyone else, or going forward with your eyes open so you don't fall flat again?

up
Voting closed 0

Biblical language is often symbolic. So relying upon Biblical language the word trip can be interpreted in different ways. Such as child abuse or rape. Should a child reflect upon what they could have done to avoid being hit by their drunken father? Should a woman meditate on how she could have avoided rape?

You're right there are more than two messages in Biblical text. Another message deriving from the history of early Hebrews allows for genocide.

The problem with Biblical interpretation is that there are many ways to interpret the text. Slavers interpreted the text to support slavery.

I'll stick to interpreting Biblical text in a way that I believe makes for a better world, not a interpretation that affirms my personal biases. Perhaps that reflects a bias. But then having seen evil in people who claim to love God can push a person in that direction.

For the record: yes. Victims of crimes should meditate on what it is that they might have done that opened them up to being victimized. Sometimes the answer is that there is nothing they could have done. Sometimes the answer is that there is plenty.

If I walk down a busy street in broad daylight and some dude sticks a gun in my back and tells me to hand over my wallet...very little I could have done to avoid the situation.

If I leave my car parked in Boston (or just about anywhere) with the windows down and they key in the ignition and a wad of cash in the passenger seat, it will stand to reason that I hold some responsibility when it gets pinched.

How you interpret any particular religious text is immaterial in both cases. How you react to the world as it is, on the other hand, is very relevant. The only rational thing you can try to do is to do less harm, recognizing that you cannot do no harm.

So for every one of the abused children in your example, there can be a set of loving parents that believes corporal punishment is appropriate at appropriate times that are deemed appropriate by parents and not by a third party with no situational awareness but plenty of self-righteousness. And it would be just as wrong to run them through the wringer as it would be to leave an innocent kid in the care of a violent drunk.

Could have done something to avoid, like not being born black or gay or female?

Read your Bible. It has Jesus making statements about not divorcing, rejecting one's family to follow him and feeding lots of people with a few fish. It says NOTHING about homos.

Why are you not telling everyone to reject their families and follow Jesus? Cafeteria Catholic?

Trump is pro-Trump. He is psychologically incapable of recognizing suffering in another human being. He declared that he could get a way shooting a person on 5th Avenue. Please go ahead and squirm your way out of being associated with advocacy of violence against innocent people.

But I offer my gratitude to you today for providing yet another opportunity to acknowledge a poor soul in need of spiritual help. Hopefully you will find that help one day.

What I posted us 100% true. Why do you disbelieve it? BTW: I am bisexual, not effeminate at all or stereotypically LGBTQ. Yes, I've been called the F word many times, as have most guys. Very common word used as an insult. I've been called mean spirited racist slurs against 'white' people many times. I grew up in majority non-Caucasian neighborhoods. By far, most non- Caucasian people were cool. But, when alterations and fights occurred (especially as a teenager) the first insult was about my pale skin color. 2nd was being an F word, B word (b*th), even been called honkey (honky?) more than once. I was jumped (beaten up) 8 times because I was white, no other reason. I know it's difficult for most 'white' people (vast majority from up in majority white suburban areas) but what I'm saying is 100% true. Interestingly, I've never had a 'black' person not believe and sympathize with me on this issue; only middle class suburban born and raised whites.

Everyone knows there's one set of rules for activist liberal white ppl and another set of rules for everyone else.

A couple of years as a kid in the Philadelphia public schools inoculated me against many of the pathologies that affect the former demographic. Except for the Geoff Diehl sticker on the back of my 12 year old car, I can blend in quite nicely with them. When I drive the wife's yuppie-wagon, you can't tell at all.

But still, I believe you.

Do tell, Roman. And what, in your mind, is the set of rules of "activist" liberal white people? And are there another set of rules, in your mind, for "non activist" liberal white people?

I'm glad those Philadelphia public schools made you a man - immune to the pathological activist liberal white people. Unfortunately, from your comments against the same group, as posted here, it appears to me that you might of needed a stronger inoculation.

Activist liberals think it's their job to frame every little friction in everyday life as an existential battle between good and evil. A battle that requires them to ride in on their white horse and slay the dragon.

Normal people know to mind their own damn business instead of automatically assuming the worst in everyone else.
