Revere Beach phone thief seemed resigned to being arrested, police say
Transit Police report little trouble arresting a Boston man for a phone robbery at the Revere Beach Blue Line stop around 11 a.m. on Saturday.
Police say a bystander alerted an officer just leaving the station about what seemed to be a fight near the station entrance:
he officer, who had just left the station, immediately returned and observed a male, later identified as Edward Botelho, 38, of Boston. Botelho was holding a phone in his hand and stated to the officer "It's me you want". Immediately following Botelho was the victim, a 63 year old male, who informed the officer Botelho had just robbed him of his cellular telephone.
Botelho was charged with unarmed robbery, police say.
Innocent, etc.
