Imagine if they could run the new Orange Line train through the new Wollaston station

New Wollaston Train Station

This woman, who loves, loves, loves the new Wollaston station, what with its gleaming and clean maps and signs and floors and stuff, would probably die of happiness on the spot if a new Orange Line train came through, so we feel bad about mentioning that JFK/UMass, Andrew and Broadway are as much "real Boston" as all the stops with more than two colors on the maps.

Agreed. Also, she thinks Wollaston Station is in North Quincy and not where it actually is, which is, um, in Wollaston.

Ugh, I got through half of it and had to stop watching when she said that only South Station, DTX, and Park are “actual Boston”. Take a seat sweetie.

Anyone visit this station yet? Almost looks like it goes a lot higher than it needs to to go over the tracks to get to the center platform....

I took it yesterday. It's very nice inside, simple, clean, pretty big (no narrow stairs).

There are two ways to get to the center platform. You can go down a few steps, which leads to a center mezzanine that connects the parking lot to the Newport Ave entrance. Off this center mezzanine are two big stair cases that lead up to the center platform.

On the parking lot side, there's the big stair case leading up to the bridge over the inbound track. Since the parking lot is actually below the grade of the tracks, that's why the stair case/escalator is so tall.

That way is a bit longer to get into the station. I have yet to try that route yet :)

Super happy to see this open and not have to take that darn shuttle bus to N. Quincy anymore. It was adding about 15-20 minutes to my commute.

Now if they can fix the signal problems, life will be decent again on the T.

Good to know that Dorchester and South Boston are not REAL Boston, and if I want to go to real Boston I need to go Downtown where it gets real "Boston-y."

A little sensitive...she's talking to people who don't know Boston and tourists are mostly interested in those stops.
