I think most people prefer the term "nerd" or "geek" in a self-deprecating fun sort of way. Or perhaps just "person who is a big fan of Star Trek." That's a little long to say, though.

The person who prefers "loser", is, however, a loser.
Most of prefer to use phrases like "geek test".
That way we needle who needs it but also show we've graduated high school.
