Michael Douglas gets reminded of the important things in Boston-area Bloomberg swing
By adamg on Mon, 02/24/2020 - 10:27am
People Magazine reports on the actor stumping for the former Medford resident in Quincy:
Earlier on Sunday, Douglas headed to the city of Quincy, located about 12 miles south of Boston. The Oscar winner visited the Bloomberg campaign office, which is located in a former Dress Barn.
"There was a woman with a sign that said ‘bring back Dress Barn'," said Robert Schepis, who was outside the office.

I don't think Bloomberg has
I don't think Bloomberg has any control over U. S. Bankruptcy Court.
Sounds like a Dick Tuck style
Sounds like a Dick Tuck style political prank.
Life comes at you pretty fast
Life comes at you pretty fast sometimes
12 miles?
12 miles?
It’s right next door for Christ sake.
9 miles
city hall to city hall, according to Google maps.
Mass Pike
When you're driving in on the Mass Pike, etc... and there are mileage signs to Boston, is that to City Hall or the city border?
Most town milegage is based on town hall location
But for Boston it is based on the State House. Mind you, we are talking tenths of a mile difference, but I love the technicality.
im no liz warren fan but......
didn't she basically behead his campaign in the first 10 minutes of the debate the other night?
micheal douglas? wtf
Yes, but does she support bringing back the Dress Barn?
And what about the Bahgie?
im a frugal fannys guy
who buys dresses in a barn?
Sometimes the answer is in
Sometimes the answer is in the question.
Yes and no
She made a bunch of accusations - most of which turned out to be untrue ("dozens" of NDAs turned out to be 3 and Bloomberg said the women can talk all they want about what's in them - they just need to contact the company to get a release).
Mainly she also has a bee in her bonnet about him being a billionaire - guessing she's jealous she's impoverished since she's only worth about $10 million.
My guess is for better or worse his advisers told him to ignore most of the people onstage who will be irrelevant in 3 weeks. Will be curious to see if he throws a few more punches in SC.
Policy wise he's pretty much in line with Biden, Buttigieg and Klobuchar - all of whom have a far better chance against Trump than Warren or Sanders.
perhaps
among old people with one job and a portfolio, but you are a dying breed.
Wrong about the NDA stuff
What she said is that we don't know how many NDAs he has and unless you're Bloomberg or his lawyer, you don't know either. All we know is that Bloomberg agreed to release 3 women from NDAs (you'll note that his carefully worded statement never said he was releasing all such women from their NDAs).
He made this statement after the debate, again only about three specific cases, after refusing to publicly release women from their NDAs during the debate.
So we're in the same boat as during the debate - there's potentially more people out there who signed NDAs for sexual harassment and gender discrimination at his company, and he's still refusing to give a general release. And it's particularly unfair to point to actions Bloomberg took after the debate to argue that Warren was saying anything untrue.
Conflating
She was after him personally. They went back and looked and found him named in three suits. They could have been frivolous or not, but it's sadly often easier and cheaper to pay people to go away than to fight sometimes. Ask the three women what happened. To the best of my knowledge all this stuff is at least 20 years old and didn't happen while he was mayor.
Bottom line, best chance against Trump is Bloomberg. The other three moderates can put up a fight. Sanders and Warren get blown away (although Trump could beat himself and still lose to them, but it won't be because of them).
Is Gillette Stadium missing a grounds crew member?
Because wow, that was some impressive moving of the goalposts.
Saying things doesn't make them true
.
Exactly
Warren says lots of stuff that isn't true. As one talking head said a while back "Liz Warren has a tenuous relationship with the truth."
Easy fix
Yep, but he whipped out his bankroll, peeled off a couple hundred million, and bought himself a new head. The question is how long will he keep doing that?
