When that casino first opened, it seemed liked they were trying to market to a higher end clientele with the high minimum tables, fancy restaurants, $600 a night rooms, etc.
However, judging by many of the past incidents that have made the press, it appears they're attracting a more ratchet crowd instead.
You concentrate enough people in one place. There's going to be a fight at some point. Casinos, Malls, Stadiums, Airports. However, when it comes to Gaming at Encore, their incidents are tame compared to Connecticut, Jersey, and Vegas.
They hadn't been attracting enough of a crowd crowd - that's why they've been offering lower-minimum table games and lower-cost parking than when they started.
In the WBZ report, they say they employ about 30 security staff - unless that's 30/shift, it's way too few.
It also says "They also said there have been issues with police radios not working at the casino." That sounds like there's some sort of jamming going on (maybe to prevent cheating) and the casino has to do something to keep that from being a problem.
The casino is basically a Faraday cage - lots of metal that disrupts radio communications, which isn't necessarily intentional. BPD officers can have the same problem inside hospitals.
It bums me out that so many people have to be so nasty about every thing. Talk about bringing society down to the lowest common denominators. Please go look at cute kitten websites and try to smile, won't you?
Massachusetts state police. Casino owners. "Unruly" patrons. It's like a battle royale of the biggest pieces of shit in the commonwealth.

Ratchet?
Are you saying that the patrons are tools? Does Encore management need to make a wrenching decision now?
Or maybe the Encore has become a
Cuckoo's Nest
They hadn't been attracting

Gambling should only be for
Gambling should only be for the 1%?
There are some of us who don't want to drop $600 a night and but still enjoy themselves.
Sounds like Encore needs to get its act together

Jamming or ...

That makes sense - hadn't thought of that
.
Also the Stoughton IKEA
Which many other elements of casino style design.

Too much alcohol, served too late at night?
Anyone other than the casino would be facing a Licensing Commission hearing now.
It could be more dangerous
At least they're not serving late-night tacos to hungry college students.
Not likely
Have you ever tried to get drink service at the Encore? They say they have it but I'll be damned if I ever see waitstaff.
Does Everett's alcohol board
Does Everett's alcohol board treat business owners the same as Boston's?
For that matter, how does Boston handle it when there's a brawl at a major venue like Fenway or the Garden?
I wonder if the 4:20 AM fight
Was over who'd get the last brownie...
Just curious
Did people start betting on the fight?
