I'm going to make a wild guess and say somewhere on or around Tremont Street in the South End.

A Google search finds a book that mentions his shop at the corner of Harvard and Tyler streets -- but those are tiny little streets in what is now Chinatown, neither of them anywhere nearly large enough to be in this photo.
He must have moved
to a larger shop.

That just says to me that
That just says to me that this must be a street with a median on it now. Most of the wide streets in Boston that no longer have Trolleys seemed to grow a giant cement strip out of their centers. Sometimes speckled with giant planters. Could that place something like this in the outerlands like Dorchester ?
