Not a great past month to be a pedestrian or cyclist in the Boston area, 2 more struck in Lowell.

Too bad serious charges are never leveled against the drivers.

Is there ever a good month for pedestrians or cyclists?

September can be nice for walks and rides. If it's cool in August, it's nice to go out after dinner since the sun sets so late.

Drivers often think the lives of pedestrians don’t matter. So many drivers are disgusting, lazy brats. It starts with politicians and cops letting them get away with murder.

Just a week before I witnessed a similar East Boston incident at that brutal rotary/intersection of Meridian and Bennington in Central Square. Fortunately it did not end in a shooting. But an enraged man jumped out of a car, screaming at the driver behind him who had apparently slightly tapped his car. He screamed "you wanna fight, come on, come on" and just kept repeating "come on, come on". How come a violent person wanting to fight always uses that same cliché? It's so tired, they need to come up with a new phrase. Fortunately the situation de-escalated.

I've had drivers honk at me in that crosswalk because I didn't notice they were going 40+ mph (speed limit 25) and made them slow down so as not to hit me. I would love to see the BPD actually enforce something.

I've heard the officers complain trying to cross Meridian St (in front of the station) because cars won't stop for them either. If only there were people were around to do something about that....must be the MSP job to enforce ped crossing I guess.

They always have an excuse why they can’t do any meaningful traffic enforcement. Good thing they are getting a brand new police station!

Yeah, well you know, those pedestrians just step off the curb wherever they feel like it, wearing dark clothes, listening to headphones. I'm sure this driver was justified.

You have to understand, if you're a pedestrian, drivers are going to shoot you.
