But here the Government is giving their consent. Vaccines ,Tattoo and Piercings need parental consent and Abortions do not.

Who ends up pregnant experience at least a few of the the following:
being socially ostracized;
getting kicked out of her home; forced to drop out of school,
endure an unwanted "coupling" with a loser boyfriend or f-buddy simply for appearance sakes;
endure possible physical and/or emotional abuse;
get saddled with an untenable financial burden, etc, etc.
Just because your Nana or Auntie had those experiences, doesn't make it right.
Using worst case scenarios
How about a legal guardian taking her to get an abortion, comforting her and being there for her in a troubling tine,? Most people I know are not anti abortion, but most don't appreciate being cut out of their responsibilities because politicians think it's best.
One can come up with worst case scenarios for lots of things but it doesnt mean the Government needs to be the parent.
If you tell your kid to stop hanging around with a group of kids because they are bad the kid might resent it and run away, so Mama Government should say kids can hang with whoever they like so they won't run away?

A legal guardian would do that willingly, yet between the 1.2m folks in MA who voted for Trump, plus the millions of others who have religious and other hang-up's on sex being specifically for procreation, etc, who themselves are already uncomfortable with talking to their teens about sex and birth control, much less pregnancy or abortion, the pool of "willing and comforting" guardians is already greatly diminished.

Insurance
The reason why consent is required in many places is due to a stipulation in their insurance policies. They are not legally required to obtain it.
I think abortion should be legal without consent at all ages but I'm surprised there are facilities in MA willing to offer the procedure to those under 18 without consent for the same insurance reasons. Does the change to the law give them a defense if sued?

If I want a tattoo now and have to wait a year, nothing major has changed. If someone is two months pregnant and wants an abortion now, making them wait often means making them carry the pregnancy to term, and definitely increases their risk.
Very few parents will throw their daughters out of the house if they say they want to get a tattoo. Even fewer will punish their children for asking for a flu vaccine.
Not getting a tattoo or piercing is safer than getting one. Carrying a pregnancy to term is riskier than getting an abortion.
Also, I think sixteen-year-olds who want to be vaccinated shouldn't need parental permission. If you want to start a campaign to change that law, I'll support it.
Why make it 16 then?
Make it younger with no parental notification that their child has had sexual intercourse with someone. It's not really our business anyway, the State will make sure she wasnt forced I'm sure.
A school counselor can drive her to get an abortion and have her back in math class in a few hours. Shhhhhhhh.

The ROE Act, as filed, eliminated the age minimum entirely. The compromise bill reduced it from 18 to 16.

Sexualizing children
I love how all of you proponents are sexualizing minor girls. Why not let them sell some pics of their sex acts while they're at it? It is their bodies and their choice, right? I mean, it's only sex. Who really cares if some 74 year old ex president gets his jollies from it. Why would anyone care? They get lonely too, now that Jeffrey is gone. Where do they get comfort?
As a (small l) libertarian I actually hold thoughtful conversations about such topics. The world is not as full of absolutes as the woke believe.

This is great news
I worked for years in adolescent sexual health and volunteered with the Eastern Mass Abortion Fund. This law will help so many people. I don't think most folks realize how these systems impact people in reality.
Judicial bypass is a fundamentally unfair and burdensome process to put a young person through and I have nothing but the utmost respect for the lawyers who have helped young people through it over the years.
And the post-24 weeks portion of the law is way overdue. No more trying to pull together tens of thousands of $$ to get to one of the two states that provides it - 2!! - to get a third trimester abortion.
Amazing work on the part of our advocates here in Massachusetts.
