Some clowns protesting men who want to force births

A couple hundred men, mostly Catholic, mostly from out of town, marched from the Packards Corner Planned Parenthood to the Parkman Bandstand on Boston Common today to try to impose their will on a state where abortion remains a right and part of women's health care.

A group of out-of-state Catholic men, possibly joined by some local Nazis, have decided to try to shove their will down our throats in a march Saturday morning from the Planned Parenthood clinic at Packards Corner down to the Common, where they will keen and wail and demand us godless heathens just stop all this nonsense immediately. A chain of "pregnancy resource centers" - including outlets in Revere and Brookline - that won't offer referrals for abortions for pregnant patients wants the state to leave it alone and stop warning people about them. Read more.

Researchers who looked at data from Massachusetts Planned Parenthood clinics from 2018 through October, 2022 found a small but significant increase in the number of people coming into Massachusetts for abortions following the Supreme Court Dobbs decision in June, 2022, even though we don't border any states where abortion is now banned.

Gov. Healey announced today that that Massachusetts health-care providers have started stockpiling mifepristone in advance of potential judicial action to ban its sale, despite 20 years of use showing its safer than many other drugs, including Viagra, but nobody is talking about denying men a right to erections. Mansplainers on the move

Nancy shows us the 100 or so men who started marching down Comm. Ave. at the Allston Planned Parenthood to mansplain about a medical procedure none of them will ever need. The Million Thousand Hundred Mansplainer march against abortion was supposed to end up at the State House, but would anybody be surprised if most of them exhausted themselves mansplaining long before they got there?

The State House News Service reports that minutes after the Supreme Court threw out Roe v. Wade and with it the legal underpinnings of everything from gay marriage to contraception, Gov. Baker signed an executive order he says will protect access to reproductive health-care services in Massachusetts.
