Citizen complaint of the day: Remember the good old days?

A disgusted citizen files a 311 complaint about some graffiti at Lawrence and Clarendon streets - and about the State of the City today:

The extraordinary mindset of Bostonians as city dwellers who think they ought to be immune to graffiti, sound, and the mere presence of other human beings. For what you're paying to live in the South End you could live in Newton, where such an expectation is slightly more reasonable - at least it is less profoundly delusional.

Would you be of the same opinion if you woke up this morning and someone had randomly doodled paint all over your property -or your entire neighborhood?
A couple of these talentless human parasites have gone on a rampage in Fields Corner since the beginning of the year; they've tagged just about everything further blighting an area where nobody I know has the option of moving to Newton. You are welcome to come by and enjoy their "art" at your convenience.
Also worth noting; although you may never have walked the area of, say, Aguadilla St or Tremont St X Worcester St, the South End has thousands of low income households.

The extraordinary mindset of someone who thinks vandalism and defacing property are fine and dandy just because it's in the city. The Menino mention is stupid though.

Yes, and if they aren't taking care of it, the city will let them know of this, hook them up with low-cost cleanup programs, and eventually fine them for not removing it. It's the same as having trash, overgrown weeds, etc. -- it's certainly worth discussing at what point this becomes broken-windows policing, but for now, the city requires property owners to clean up graffiti, so the neighbor is in the right for asking for enforcement if they've talked to the neighbor and they're not addressing it.

Graffiti is some degenerates that needs a new hobby. Not sure how you can prevent from someone ‘tagging’ your property.

Meanwhile, I get my typical 7 hours a night.
As we all know
there was never any graffiti in Boston under Menino.
And he made the trains

None at all
He certainly did not create the Graffiti Busters team in his first term in office to deal with all of the graffiti in Boston. If he had, that would have been such an incredible waste of tax dollars, since there was no graffiti. /s
True story
I was at a campaign garden party in 1993 where the guy behind Graffiti Busters pitched the idea of Menino.
I was critical of the guy, but that move was a good one.
when i worked on Clarendon
I worked on Clarendon Street for a few years during the Menino administration and saw way worse things than graffiti, including a dead body being fished out of the Copley plaza fountain (fun fact: the city didn't drain the water, I saw kids splashing around in it when I went out for my lunch break that same day)
The same thing different tags
The same thing different tags is happening along Huntington Avenue in the Mission Hill area. Probably won't be long before the Longwood Medical area is hit. I don't understand how college students have time to do this unless, you know Mommy and Daddy paid cash to get them into their schools of choice. Surprisingly I do not blame students from the Mass College of Art and Design for these unoriginal tags. They have much better taste and are known to be original.
