Guy on the back of a scooter was tooling around Roxbury with a gun loaded with 12 bullets, police say
Boston Police report arresting two men on gun charges after a foot chase that began near Columbus Avenue following a scooter chase that ended when they crashed their scooter.
According to police, gang-unit officers on patrol on Tremont Street around 9:20 p.m. spotted two guys on a scooter who didn't stop for a stop sign. The officers lit up their blue lights and turned on their sirens, but the pair just kept on going, at least until they got to New Heath Street, off Columbus Avenue, where they crashed.
The occupants immediately fled the scene in opposite directions, and a foot pursuit ensued. As officers were attempting to apprehend [one of the two], a violent struggle ensued. Officers observed the suspect reaching into his waistband to an unknown object. Officers were able to gain control of the suspect’s hands and place him into handcuffs.
As officers were searching the suspect, they recovered a firearm from the suspect’s waistband. The firearm was determined to be Taurus G2 with twelve rounds in the magazine.
Rondel Hernandez, 23, was charged with unlawful possession of a firearm, unlawful possession of ammunition and unlawful possession of a large-capacity feeding device. Ocyrus Williams, 18, was charged with failure to stop for a police officer and failure to stop for a stop sign. He was also wanted on an outstanding warrant for discharging a firearm within 500 feet of a dwelling, police say.
Innocent, etc.

"Scooter" can mean a few different things
Wonder which one it was here? I don't expect people on Razor-type scooters, or even e-scooters, to stop at stop signs, because they are basically pedestrians on somewhat more stable skateboards.
(Also, is a soup ladle considered "a large-capacity feeding device" )
It can also be someone's name
I think the "back of a scooter" part make the post self explanatory.

A funny thing happened on the way to the Emergency Room...
Pedestrians, Razor users, and e-scooter users - just like motorists & bicyclists - are expected to stop at STOP signs.
Seriously, though...

First full day of spring and already encountered my first crazy dirt-bike driver - weaving and popping wheelies down Columbia Road. It would be real nice if the City would go (within the limits of such tools as they have) zero tolerance on this bullshit now and maybe some of us could enjoy the outdoors a bit.
