Group tries to gun down man on Harvard Avenue in Allston; he's saved by their horrible aim, but two cars, one storefront are hit
A group of men, at least one with a gun, fired several shots at somebody in the area of Harvard and Glenville avenues around 10:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
They missed him, but blew out windows in two parked cars and a store on the even-numbered side of Harvard Avenue. One person reported getting grazed in the ankle, as well. Police eventually recovered six shell casings on the odd-numbered side of the street near Glenville.

Most of the gang that couldn't shoot straight apparently fled up Harvard towards Brighton Avenue - police found abandoned clothing behind the Blanchard's - but one man sped away on a motorcycle and was last spotted in the area of the Starbucks on Commonwealth Avenue at Griggs Street.
Police shut Harvard Avenue to traffic between Glenville and Brighton Avenue.

Thank you Adam
For always dunking on the criminal morons that show up in the news. I always thought it was annoying catch-22 that reporting on crime elevates the criminals. Calling them the clowns they are is so satisfying to see
Site of two smoke shops across the street from each other.
I'm sure that's just a coincidence though.
Gun dipshits are gonna dipshit
No need to make excuses for foul degenerates.
Jon Stewart delivered the last word on guns in this country on Monday's Daily Show.
What about the other two corners?
Perfect spots for a dispensary and a check-cashing place.
Better be some ...
Funyuns in the mix!
The dispensary is down Harvard St. a little
The check cashing place closed years ago. We needed another expensive East Asian noodle joint. Allston Village doesn't have near enough of them.
The space that used to be the
The space that used to be the White Horse Tavern is becoming yet another hot pot restaurant. I'm guessing the TITS space just down the street will become yet another Korean BBQ joint.
Ouch
That strip used to be the best for taking a one block walk and saying "I feel like sushi...no wait, how about Thai...nah, maybe Brazilian" and it would all be great.
REALLY? Smoke shops are the issue??
Are you saying smoking causes people to shoot other humans? They aren't dispensaries. It's not the methadone clinic. It's not a bar. Can't wait to hear how smoke shops are the catalyst for people to shoot each other.
You think Virginia Slims are the main draw?
Pretty sure that much of their inventory is geared toward stuff you can't find at 7-Eleven.
Explain?
Not sure I get the part about how vapes make people shoot each other.
Before I aged out of Allston
I sat in Richard's chair every 3 weeks for a decade. He's a good egg, and his effective conversion of Fast Eddie's into a head shop has more to do with capitalist decay (how do you make rent giving haircuts? Moving some high-margin-low-volume glass would help) than social decay.
I also think prevailing styles in masculine cuts have moved towards salons for people with straight hair, which makes being that style of barber tougher. The lines definitely got shorter over that decade.
calling all
jack asses without souls, we have your sweatshirt.
So glad we moved from that area!
Wow - this is terrifying! This neighborhood was always too rowdy for me, but now it's downright dangerous. Lucky to have moved to a quiet neighborhood in JP. Most of the people who live in that area are college students, and they have no community investment in keeping it safe. They just move to another overpriced apartment. Drug dealers wander around freely and no one reports them until there's a shootout going on.
Atypical for the neighborhood
Usually the worst that ever happens around there is drunk college students doing stupid things, like falling off balconies.
20 years ago, maybe
The kids these days are less about the alcohol, and the nearby college is less about admitting bros, anyway.
I don't recognize the old 'hood when I visit it. And that's okay. It's someone else's turn. I had my time.
Missed opportunity
(just saw the pun, lol)
What are these guys, stormtroopers?
how did a group fire
if only one is known to have has a gun. Was one firing and the others feeding the ammo belt?
