On Orange and Green, there were woes we glean
By adamg on Fri, 11/15/2024 - 10:02am
The MBTA reports the day started with a switch problem near Wellington on the Orange Line and a dead trolley at Chestnut Hill on the Green Line. Both problems since fixed.

Why the fuck do they lie to us?
The slow zone is back, if it ever left.
Yesterday around 1040am southbound on the Orange line between Mass Ave and Ruggles our speed dropped to about 15-20mph.
Not necessarily a slow zone
Could have been a congestion issue or workers in the area. They actually do things to keep the trains spaced out now.
My train sat at Sullivan for 3 minutes last night to maintain headways, but still got from State to Wellington in 12 minutes. I was kind of astonished.
Common practice to hold trains
When I took the T between my home and my job in Watertown, it was common for trains to hold for various reasons; e.g. if an Alewife-bound train was at Harvard and we were at Central, they held the train until it cleared Harvard, and then let us proceed.
