Woman arrested after police find her packing a loaded gun in her bra; man ferrying her around Dorchester also charged, police say
Boston Police report a traffic stop on Hartford Street in Dorchester on Monday ended with both driver and passenger under arrest.
Police say officers on patrol ran the plates of a car and found the owner had had his insurance revoked and his license suspended, so they pulled the car over.
Upon approaching the vehicle, Officers identified the driver as Gregory Skillman and the passenger as Dadizi Poles. After confirming that Skillman did not have a valid driver’s license, officers took him into custody. During the investigation, Poles was removed from the vehicle, where Officers discovered a plastic bag containing a white, rock-like substance believed to be crack cocaine.
A subsequent search revealed that Poles was concealing a firearm in her bra. Officers safely retrieved the weapon and requested District B-2 Detectives to process it. The firearm was identified as a Ruger LCP .380 Auto, equipped with a laser sight, one round in the chamber, and five rounds in the magazine.
Both Skillman and Poles were placed in custody and transported to District B-2 for booking. During the booking process, Officers recovered additional suspected cocaine from Poles’ wallet.
Skillman, 49, of Dorchester, was charged with driving with a suspended license and revoked insurance and possession of a Class B substance, police say. Poles, 45, of Allston, was charged with unlawful possession of a firearm, unlawful possession of a loaded firearm, unlawful possession of ammunition and possession of a Class B substance, police say.
