Not art, BTD determines

There's an art installation of what looks like a satellite crashed into the hood of an Altima parked on Washington Street in Downtown Crossing (not to be confused with one of the art installations that look like giant pink blobby guys). Of course, you're not supposed to park on Washington Street in Downtown Crossing, even if a satellite just crashed into you car, so somebody at BTD wrote it a ticket.

Is entirely on-point for Boston. It'd be even better if BTD keeps putting additional tickets on the windshield or perhaps a boot.

Some person on Reddit says it's art. No further info or links. I say it's not art.
Furthermore it seems perfectly logical that a satellite would hit a car. Who says it is not?

And while we're at it with public art that is not art, those strange animal head things that were up around DTX for the holidays were the most un-Christmas-y or un-festive-y looking things I've ever seen.

Article in the Boston Globe says:

But it turns out the envelope, which is empty, is part of the art display, too, according to the Downtown Boston Alliance, the organization behind “WINTERACTIVE,” now in its second year.

“It’s an authorized element of the art experience (approved by both the City and the artist) and we have been pleased by the City’s sense of humor about the idea and their partnership in providing a street occupancy permit for the art piece,” John Michael Kennedy, a spokesperson for the business alliance, said by email.

“We’ve enjoyed the Reddit speculations,” he added.

Kennedy also clarified that the vehicle never had hubcaps on its tires, putting to rest questions about whether they had been stolen.

They intentionally put a ticket on it as they were unloading the space junk.
