Man shot on Evelyn Street in Mattapan
Boston Police report a man was shot shortly after 6 p.m. on Tuesday at 55 Evelyn St., near Norfolk Street, in Mattapan.
Police say that while officers were investigating the shooting, they noticed a guy tossing something into a plastic trash barrel in a neighboring yard.
Officers removed the backpack and recovered a loaded firearm inside. After thoroughly searching the backpack, officers located a second loaded firearm in a rear pocket along with two plastic bags of green leafy substance believed to be marijuana, and a plastic bag with four individual bags containing a white hard rock-like substance believed to be crack cocaine.
Tyson Cooper, 31, of Mattapan, was not charged with the shooting, but was charged with two counts of unlawful possession of a firearm and carrying a loaded firearm and one count each of unlawful possession of ammunition, possession of marijuana with intent to distribute and possession of crack with intent to distribute.
