Man shot to death on Blue Hill Avenue in Mattapan

Victim identified as Kalil Jackson, 25, of Dorchester.

Boston Police report a man was shot outside 1194 Blue Hill Ave., near Morton Street in Mattapan, around 12:25 a.m.

The victim was declared dead at the scene.

The murder was Boston's second in less than 12 hours.

Sorry to hear and only a day passed since the prior one.

I see that there have been 28 reported murders this year and that there were zero in August.

That's encouraging.

This murder is particularly brazen as it was within view of the front door of the B-3 police station, near one of the city's busiest intersection.
