Man with loaded gun arrested in Hyde Park hair salon, police say
Boston Police report officers who were already investigating a Hyde Park man for possible drug violations arrested him yesterday inside a hair salon in Hyde Park's Cleary Square.
Police say drug-unit officers investigating possible drug sales in the area of River Street and Edgewater Drive in Mattapan Square spotted their suspect, Ruben Charles, 33, of Hyde Park, who already had two warrants out for his arrest, get into a car with a woman and drive down River into Hyde Park.
Police say the officers briefly lost sight of him, but found the car around 1:30 p.m. outside Complex Hair Design, 1281 River St. in Hyde Park.
Officers were able to handcuff the suspect, and during a search incident to arrest, they recovered a firearm from his waistband. The firearm was later determined to be a Bersa Thunder with one round in the chamber and four rounds in the magazine.
Charles was charged with illegal possession of a firearm and illegal possession of ammunition, as well as for the warrants, which charged him with breaking and entering in the daytime.
At his arraignment today in Dorchester Municipal Court, Judge Lisa Ann Grant ordered Charles held at least pending a dangerousness hearing on May 31.
Innocent, etc.

I hope this doesn't affect the salon. I said goodbye to luxury salons a long time ago.
