Connaughton, for the roughly 99% of you who have never heard of her, is the Republican candidate for auditor this year. She normally doesn't spell out her middle name, but makes an exception in the North End.

Seems there were some issues during the primary at the Jackson-Mann School, where a lot of the small number of BU students who vote locally vote. Or would, if they were allowed to.

Also, the kids learned that the 150-foot rule (candidates and their palm carders are supposed to stay 150 feet away from the poll) is a complete joke in Boston (but sometimes, dropping a dime does work.

The Massachusetts Taxpayers Foundation says Question 3, which would cut the state sales tax from 6.25 to 3%, would leave us heading over the cliff:

What did you think?

My big takeaway was that Jill Stein seemed like an afterthought; she was the only one who didn't really get to enunciate what it was she stood for, besides not being one of the other three. Still not sure if that's because she wasn't able to do so or because she seemed to get a lot less opportunity to talk in the first half of the debate.

One Massachusetts is a group seeking a "No" vote on all three of this year's ballot questions, which would cut the sales tax in general, repeal the sales tax on booze in particular and eliminate a state requirement that communities ensure a certain percentage of their homes are "affordable." Credit where credit is due. And kazoos!
