Been off by an hour since DST.

PSTTT....Randi Lathrop is to be named "acting director" of the Boston Redevelopment Authority.

I hardly ever see an outdoor clock that *is* correct.

If I worked as a maintenance person in a place with an outdoor clock, I'd be hyper-obsessive about making sure it's correct.

People used to care a lot more about this, even though it was a lot harder. For example, the entire Western Union telegraph system used to pause a few minutes before noon so they could send their customers a synchronization signal from the Naval Observatory clock.

To their credit, the T's LED platform displays are almost always accurate to the second, as are the times on the in-bus stop announcement screens.

It has since been fixed, but for several months the two LED displays on the inbound platform at Arlington were out of sync. The one closest to the stair had the correct time while the one farther back was four minutes fast.

You really use these expensive to maintain anachronisms for finding out the time? Go to your churches and pray for them to get their hunch back to work ringing their bells. Then you're likely to get more accurate time and put a perpendicularly challenged individual to work. (Cue the comments about the hi-lo clock next.)
