No bail for man charged with gunning down kid walking down a Mattapan street listening to music
Csean Skerritt, 34, was ordered held without bail today by a judge in Dorchester court on charges he followed, then gunned down Tyler Lawrence, 13, of Norwood, at Babson and Fremont streets in Mattapan on Jan. 29, according to the Suffolk County District Attorney's office.
Assistant District Attorney Julie Higgins said the city’s ShotSpotter system reported multiple gunshots at about 11:30 a.m. in the area of Blue Hill Avenue and Babson and Freemont streets. Higgins said video surveillance from the area showed Lawrence, who was visiting his grandparents, walking along Blue Hill Avenue and listening to music. Surveillance showed Skerritt park his car, cross the street, follow Lawrence, shoot him numerous times, then flee.
Three days after allegedly murdering the boy, Skerritt was arrested by federal agents for allegedly selling to a "cooperating witness."
Innocent, etc.
