Still time to replenish your Passover supplies

The Hyde Park Shaw's still had a decent supply of kosher-for-Passover matzo and those sugar fruit-slice things tonight. No macaroons, alas.

Need an analog to the French Toast Alert.
Degrees of Tzimmes, maybe?
The Arlington Stop and Shop
has even lower prices ($5 for a case of 10 the last time I was there).
Not enough Jews here :-(
Chicken soup?
# of Matzo balls = springtime storm severity?
The little Stah on Beacon Street in Somerville
Had their Passover goodies on deep discount, as well. A couple days ago, with the fruit slices and matzoh, they still had some cho-co-lates, though no macaroons. Also ... chocolate covered matzohs? Wow. Anyway, saw it all and thought, "I picked the wrong week to go low carb."
Might as well stock up...
Might as well stock up... they won't go bad!
why not
they are 50% off!!! Might as well save a few bucks.
Mmmm...
Sugar fruit-slice things... I didn't know those were a "Passover thing".
The confection of atonement
Cakes and cookies made with matzah flour tend to be gross, so these are popular-ish at Passover because they don't taste appreciably worse than their non-pesadich equivalent.
And by popular, I mean I'll eat them. Usually I get the whole package to myself as everyone else looks on in disgust.
Scratchie, I was about to say
Scratchie, I was about to say "Does anyone actually like those fruit things?" I thought they were the Circus Peanuts of kosher food.
They're one of my favorite
They're one of my favorite candies ever. I don't see how anyone could dislike them.
Fruit Candies
I agree with your assessment. They are pretty awful but when it's the only candy you can eat that week, they, of course, taste like ambrosia. The rest of the year, when you can have much tastier things, it's like eating grainy textured rubber flavored with cough syrup.
Chocolate?
There are some decent chocolate candies available for Passover. Even the worst of them are better than what the book Matzoh Ball (An excellent book for any Jewish baseball fan, even though it features the Orioles) calls "those disgusting fruit slices".
That does it
I'm going to pick some up the next time I'm at Rein's, just to spite y'all.
