Citizen complaint of the day: Traumatized by rodents of unusual size in South Boston

A squicked-out citizen complains about what she saw at Dorchester Street and W. 4th:

There were a few black trash bags filled on the sidewalk this morning and as I walked by approx 10 cat-size rats came running out. No pic available as I was too traumatized and screaming.

I don't think they exist.

Here Penelope!

Well - maybe in the summertime anyway.

...at least they weren't turkeys.

Would you rather fight:

1 cat-sized rat

or

10 rat-sized cats

?

Are 10 rat-sized cats just 10 kittens? Sign me up.

I have one regular sized cat and Trixie could take me down in a flash if she wanted to.

I could dispense with one cat sized rat with my laptop bag. Sure, I'd have to explain why I need a new computer to my manager but it would be worth it.

Something about those Southie and Dot rats. Had one in my old dorchester apartment that was easily the size of a small cat.

Typical southie rat. Maybe a Bulger clone

...but his reincarnation.

By the way, an unusual sized rat would be a small one.

and sure rats return bigger than ever.

Every time I read this, I start laughing. I wish all complaints used language and imagery to such skillful comic effect.

Those things are incredibly freaky, especially at night in the headlights (glowing orange eyes), and they act psychotic, but they couldn't harm anything except a well-boiled vegetable.

It's surprising how often folks can't tell the difference.
