Ed. note: Headline changed until I get a definite answer on the state of the injured person.
Around 10 p.m. at Dorchester Street and Old Colony Avenue, involving two cars. MB reports one of the cars blew through a red light. The homicide unit was called in - routine for unexpected deaths or cases where somebody is near death - and officers from other districts have been called in to shut down roads in the area.

I was wondering why all the streets were blocked off and I couldn't get home. I'm right down the street. Trying to quickly charge the drone battery to get a better look

Where did you hear that a person has died?! I heard it happen and drove by the accident about one minute after it happened, and saw someone being helped across the street by bystanders after he was removed from one of the cars.
Was listening to the aftermath on the scanner
When a commander started referring to the "fatal" crash.

I also had the scanner on and they kept referring to the scene as being at the 'fatal' at Old Colony Ave. and Dorchester St.

We live right across from this and asked the police around 2 am, and they said no one had died yet- one was still in critical condition. Maybe they have to call in the homicide team if the chances of survival aren't looking so hot. Hoping she pulled through! It was very eerie in the neighborhood all night.
Homicide unit called in
If the driver who blew through the light survives, will he (or she) be charged with homicide?
More likely vehicular
More likely vehicular manslaughter.
Sad but
Sad but not shocked... people drive around here so recklessly.
We need raised crosswalks/speed bumps at just about every intersection. Yes. I know it means it will take you 10 extra minutes to get to where you need to go but it's so people won't die.

No Deaths
One person is in critical condition but there are no reported deaths yet.
This accident:
I believe this is the accident that my son and his wife were in. My son has a broken leg and a dislocated ankle and his wife has a broken collar bone and a concussion but they are both ok considering. The person who ran the light and hit them is in critical condition and still in the hospital from what I understand. I want to personally thank anyone who was there and helped.
