State warns Expressway motorists

Wicked big stawm

UPDATE: Ye olde ed. got caught by a meme. The message isn't real.

The State Police's Dustin Fitch shows us the sign flashing a warning on the Southeast Expressway into town this morning.

Looks kind of fake.

...that's not a real sign. That's an internet joke that Dustin shared. Come on...

I don't have a lot of hard and fast rules in life but I will never purchase a product(Wachusett Green Monsta IPA comes to mind) that spells out broken words in the dumb "Boston accent".

...I wouldn't sell it to you

If you sound that sign out, it's more like a Maine accent.

stop

The cheesy phrasing of the message or the hideously large lettering. Almost looks like a photoshop job.

I saw the same sign on Twitter before this, I thought it was photoshopped, i couldn't believe a government entity would actually put that nonsense on a public sign.

It was funny for five minutes the first time they did it.

Actually, I'm pretty sure that's photoshopped. There is one of those electronic boards there, but that text is larger and more yellow than what's usually out there (unless DOT upgraded more recently than the google views)

Its just a joke you guys, have some fun, jeeze.

If you weren't a native speaker familiar with messing around with the language, you might miss something important.

The joke is done. Put a fork in it.

It's dumb, and it's overdone by this point.

I wonder also how often people who don't speak fluent English have trouble with nonsense like this ("stawm"?).

Thanks to the folks who pointed it out.
