Loud and low military copters rattle already frazzled nerves in a city perpetually on edge

Owen, who looked out his window around 4:30 to see what the racket was, was among many people reporting three military Osprey helicopters
These things are so loud! @universalhub pic.twitter.com/z38YOB2qsz — Amy (@timeyoutakeit) January 19, 2018 In the absence of any alerts about impending invasions (although an hour or so later, what should zip over the Boston area but a Russian jet?), we're going to assume it's either one of those generic training flights the military loves to do over Boston for some reason or maybe three pilots getting ready for a flight over Gillette this weekend.

Medford
Maybe six weeks ago the same copters flew over my apartment in Medford almost close enough to buzz tall trees.
Is Medford...
...the " city perpetually on edge"? I'm asking for a friend.
You just don't know
Be sure your will is up to date before you visit these tough mean streets!
If you listen to the Wilmington-based "friends" of that idiot cop who got pushed out, it's a no go racial warfare zone!
Then there was the Massive Areal Bombing of Medford that never happened when the US invaded Afghanistan. It was really just fireworks that were advertised for weeks and went off on time as planned at Hormel Field - but half the then considerable isolated elderly population of Medford dialed 911 because Medford was under attack!
So, yeah, very dangerous place here! Gonna strap on my sidearm AND my automatic rifle and walk to the coffee shop. Wish me luck!
A "city perpetually on edge"
A "city perpetually on edge" is a city on it's way to becoming "world class".
I'll take the A10 if we can't get Trump to send the F52

Your fussy headline is
Your fussy headline is dramatic and unreasonable. Whose complaining? Move to the boonies of noise bothers you..
I know who's complaining
Your English teacher.
Might want to look at a map
Do you know where most military bases are located? Hint: It isn't in the middle of cities.
There is a Coast Guard base
There is a Coast Guard base in Boston....The Coast Guard is military.
Poor comparison
The Coast Guard is now part of Homeland Security; so to call it military is stretches the definition. But they have enough sense to not create more noise than is necessary. Bt then they are respectful of basic decency and value civilized behavior. Although being commanded by the uncivilized grotesquery in the WH it may wind up being a challenge for them.
They are the fifth part of
They are the fifth part of the military...it’s easy to remember the pentagon means five: army have their, marines have their side, navy have their side, air forces has their side and the COAST GUARD have their side. Any way every arm of the military is considered part of homeland security... don’t like noise don’t live/work in a city.
Kinda true
The pentagon has five sides because the plot of land it was designed for has five sides. It has no symbolic meaning, only a practical one.
The Coast Guard is the only one of the five armed service branches that is not part of the DOD and thus is not at the Pentagon. Before Homeland Security, the Coast Guard was under the DOT.
There is still a naval base too
Although it only has two ships that call it home.
It's a former navy shipyard.
It's a former navy shipyard. It is not now and never was a navy base.
Or
Find a different news source if the headlines here bother you?
Since you like useless noise
join the circus. But they won't want you. Circus people like quiet when they're not performing, just like most sane people.
Who are these people?
Who are these people who keep posting comments about how no one should live in the city who doesn't like noise? Is there more than one, or is it the same guy* all the time? Perhaps he blew out his eardrums listening to Def Leppard on headphones with the amp at 11?
* I assume it's a guy. I think it's a safe assumption.
Ospreys
I was in the Back Bay. They were flying very low and were incredibly loud. Wish I had know about them ahead of time.
Seriously.
Things fall out of the sky with alarming frequency.
Although
They do seem to have fixed the Ospreys so they don't fall as much as they used to, which was quite a lot. Still ...
Why do you wish you knew
Why do you wish you knew ahead of time? How could that have possibly changed anything in your life?

Not a helicopter
The Bell Boeing V-22 is a tiltrotor aircraft.
Yeahbut
The Iroquois, Blackhawk, Chinook, etc. are all rotary-wing aircraft. Since we're being pedantic.
I think
that technically it's known as a crashcopter.
Very cool, and
Cool to see these. Thanks for posting the pics.
Also, in most cases when people say aircraft are at tree-top level, they're not. I'll grant you they may be unusually low, but still.
