German food
By Vicki on Sun, 10/27/2019 - 9:43pm
I'm looking for a restaurant with German food, things like wiener schnitzel and interesting sausages. A restaurant rather than a bar or beer garden, something like the now-closed Jacob Wirth. Thanks.

Great German Food and Beer to Be Had At...
Bronwyn Restaurant located right in Somerville. There are quite a few interesting wursts to choose from such as a fried chicken sausage called Weisswurst and Vegdogs as well. Also included in the menu is the Wurst Platter which features Currywurst, Kielbasa, Bratwurst, Krauterwurst and Blutwurst. Of course those Wursts comes with the classic side of sauerkraut and potatoes. The restaurant is located at 255 Washington St, Somerville, MA 02143 right in the Union Square neighborhood. Bon Appétit!

Get in the car
Go up to Karl's Sausage Kitchen in Peabody - they've got a small cafe and usually a few hard to find German beers on tap

Bit of a hike, but
Jack's Abby brewery in Framingham does some german food, and makes german-style beers.

Karl's Sausage Kitchen in Peapody does a respectable eat-in service, even if their main business is grocery/deli with european sausages, meats and cheeses, plus pickles and kraut and what-have-you.
The best
Get some westphalia ham to take home with you.
I've never had that
But I'm willing to try.

Wursthaus in Harvard Square and Jacob Wirth in Boston. Both had great meat and beer . Both closed.
Even longer hike, but
Munich Haus in Chicopee is perhaps the only reason ever to go to Chicopee. Good spaetzel.
