Hyde Park could get first Burger King

A Burger King franchisee goes before the Boston Licensing Board on Wednesday for a food-serving license to open an outlet in the Shops at Riverwood on River Street on the Hyde Park/Mattapan line - with a proposed closing time of 2 a.m.
The Burger King would join the McDonald's, Pizza Hut and Papa Gino's on Hyde Park Avenue as chain outlets in Hyde Park.
If granted, the 2 a.m. closing time would stand in contrast to the midnight closing time granted a new Tasty Burger in Downtown Crossing, where residents said they didn't want late-night burgers.
The board's hearings begin at 10 a.m. in Rm. 809 in City Hall.
The restaurant would be right across River Street from the Boston Prep school.

Thank the Lord for this, but how can this be stopped from opening its door. It does not go with the town at all by any means. If there is a Burger King, built it where the old Tilt building is being, they have a Kitchen.

According to the developer, at least as of a few years ago, Dunkin' has a lease in the shopping center as well.

From this place and I’m confused because the Burger King in Mattapan on Cummins Highway is less than a five minute drive and it closes at 12am.

This town does not need a
This town does not need a Burger King as I am doing my research paper overweight and obesity. This proves how this quiet town is now losing its value. Right across from Boston Prep to target the youth to have it be a hang out location. It needs to close at 8 pm. There are families and children. I have taken videos as to what took place at the Mattapan location. Bikers are just hanging out in the parking area. They just built Boston Medical Center for Physical Therapy. Let us not act like we do not see the big picture. Quick unhealthy fake burgers are what the world is consuming. A beautiful family restaurant would have been ten times more appropriate. One hundred fifty billion dollars is 1 percent of the medical health of obese people. Burger King is a direct contributor to the epidemic since 1980!

Hyde Park would have a better chance at more upscale and healthier dining options if its active residents actually allowed some density into their community. More residents means more patrons with money to spend.
I remember when BK was
I remember when BK was invented, you had to go to Brighton or Weymouth by the Nantasket to get a Whopper, things are moving on up, although the BK in Kingston closed and is going to be a North Shore type roast beast joint, similar to Kelly's. Fun fact, there used to be a decent roast beast joint across from Encore, Mike's I think , related to his coffee shop and bakery nearby, not sure if they still are there. Went to encore by sea once , forgot to look! The little ham and egger is probably gone too over there, o well you never appreciate something till its gone , as the song says!
Don't be GREEDY- No 2:00AM closing for Burger King
Development is one thing, but a 2:00A.M. closing for this fast food establishment is truly unacceptable for this peaceful neighborhood. The food places on American Legion Highway don't stay open that late. In warmer weather it will become a hangout for people not from the neighborhood. Police will have to establish a regular detail and divert resources all because of the greediness of a franchisee. NO,NO,NO, CITY OF BOSTON LICENSING BOARD, PLEASE DON'T DO THIS TO TO OUR NEIGHBORHOOD.
