The amount of sidewalk level retail vacancies that are coming is going to be staggering. All of these new 'mixed use' buildings (ie Frogmore) that were getting slammed down in every gentrifying neighborhood were already showing an inability to attract viable commercial tenants. These buildings have always been about the luxury condos - the sidewalk retail was just window dressing put there for city planners. And that was *before* no one in their right mind would be dropping millions to start up a new sidewalk venture anywhere anytime soon . .
I think you'll need to pick on a different multi-use building. This one is the Dona Betsaida Gutierrez Cooperative Apartments managed by Peabody for JPNDC. I'm pretty certain they focus on low and moderate income rental units. No luxury condos there.
While I agree with you elsewhere on retail vacancies, I suspect (hope?) this one will work with future retail entities for appropriate lease contracts. You know, initial low rents to allow fledgling entities to get a foothold and increase as appropriate for market value. The Re/Max at the other end of the building moved out recently, I think just before COVID struck. It's been empty since, too. That's a pretty large SF, I'll be curious to see what can fill it or if they break it down to smaller tenant space.
What about the empty abitting Rent a Center space ? Any news on that? Family Dollar (my favorite store) would make a killing there. But maybe not because of parking. I don't know.
I used to get moderately drunk at the Behan until last call then go to the Frog to finish the night. Sometimes really special things happened in that hour; sometimes really regrettable things happened in that hour. Thanks 4 the memories, Monte and fried chicken. RIP.

That's a different owner. Who knows what's in their mind regarding lack of tenant.
She Crab Gone
Alas, the sole remaining (that I know of) she-crab-soup source That is sine qua non of Low Country cuisine.
I need to find a regular source for blue-crab roe.
Say it ain’t so ,
It has been a wonderful 5 years, I will miss them greatly, it has been a go to place for dinner and brunch since they opened...
I think that they need to put out a cookbook.
THIS HURTS!
My two wing spots and drinks are GONE! Whiskeys and now Frogmore....sad!
Dear Jesus please keep Galway
Dear Jesus please keep Galway House alive. Also is Canary Square safe? Dogwood? Tres Gatos?
