Man shot on Southern Avenue in Dorchester

On Southern Avenue at Millet Street, around 11 a.m., Jay T. Kenney reports. The victim was found in the basement of a house a couple blocks away on Mallard Avenue.

Do victims have an aversion to being found where they are shot? Is it some kind of instinct to hide in a dark quite place?
