Connecticut man charged with terrorizing ex-girlfriend in Boston online
A New Haven man faces charges he used a variety of e-mail accounts to repeatedly threaten to murder his former girlfriend in Boston - in what federal say was an unrelenting campaign that also included trying to get her framed for insurance fraud in North Carolina.
Marshall Nicholas Fain, 31, was arrested on charges of stalking by electronic means and transmitting threats through interstate commerce, the US Attorney's office reports.
According to the US Attorney's office, the two had been dating until August, 2021. A month after they broke up, Fain began harassing her - and didn't let an abuse-prevention order from a Boston court stop him:
Fain allegedly created multiple social media and email accounts which he used to harass and threaten the victim anonymously. Specifically, according to the charging documents, Fain used anonymous Instagram and Facebook accounts to send the victim messages that said, among other things, "I'll kill you" and "You gonna get yours if it's the last thing I do." Fain allegedly also used anonymous email addresses to send the victim threatening messages that said, among other things, "I'm gonna find you and kill you if it's the last thing I do," "By now you know I don't give a f*** about my own life so I really don't mind taking yours," and "When the time is right you gonna be one of the girls going missing. Ima torture the f*** out of you when I catch you."
According to an affidavit by an FBI agent on the case, Fain also filed a bogus insurance fraud report with an insurance company over a North Carolina car accident the woman had been involved in in the spring of 2021. The insurance company in turn relayed the case to the North Carolina Department of Insurance, which opened an investigation.
Fain now faces up to five years in prison on the cyberstalking charge and two years in prison on the transmitting-threats charge, the US Attorney's office says.

I'm so glad they pursue these cases
What is wrong with people (usually guys) that break up and then go ape sh*t? I hope his prison roommate reads all the stuff he wrote to her....
2-5 years is a really short
2-5 years is a really short amount of time for evolving emotionally, but allows plenty of time to stew in anger. I would hope there are things in place to address this guy's emotional pain/immaturity so that he is not a worse threat when he gets out.
Is there a chemical science
Is there a chemical science to why some men abuse women? Why almost all murders and violent behavior are committed by men?
I don't think it has to be chemical
Patriarchy pretty much explains it all.
Toxic
Toxic masculinity. Men don't have healthy coping mechanisms when it comes to their own emotions because they're never taught any. I'm generalizing, as of course this doesn't apply to all men.
