Awesome food
But Legacy is an absolute disaster. Couldn’t pay me to visit anyone/anything there.
What is wrong with Legacy Place?

It is fine.....
The lower parking lot can get real crowded but Legacy Place is doing very well. It took a huge hit (in my book) when they got rid of the Au Bon Pain but maybe this place will fill that void (there is a Nero's there)
There is always the heavily overrated 50's diner around the corner, but plenty of great breakfast places in Norwood (Murph's and Mug and Muffin) and the Toast Office in Westwood as well.

Wait, the 50s Diner is overrated?
Aw, man, I like that place. Except for the cash-only part, since I rarely carry money anymore. And the wait to get in, at least on Sundays.
But, yes, the actual diner in Norwood (across from the town hall that looks like a church) is good, and the Mug 'n' Muffin is worth a trip if you remember when they were everywhere, so to each his own. Don't forget the Grateful Dedham Diner in Dedham Square.

Town Square Diner? Also cool but another pricey/average meal imo. Also cash only, and needs a good cleaning….
Try Murphs. Or Spot bagel. Toast office also good.

Agreed. I don't understand why it's so popular. They used canned mushrooms and potatoes (they may no longer do this)...yuck!

I don't understand why some
I don't understand why some people think diners are an artifact from the 50s. There have been diners continuously from the 19-teens to the present.
A hot take from a fan and a critic
They serve more than toast, silly =) I also think they have nothing at all to do with the one in Hull.
I liked the one in Kendall way back when, I think they have always been overpriced since 2010 but worse now.
I would prefer they have more vegan breakfast options than say, vegan ramen, which doesn't really make sense to me in an all day sort of breakfast place.

I still can't believe that
I still can't believe that there are restaurants that specialize in toast. I saw my first one in Downtown Providence Rhode Island last year appropriately enough called 'Toast'. Seems like a really niche market to me.

Good fit
The Friendly Toast will be a good fit for Legacy Place, probably an even better fit them their Burlington Mall site. It doesn't overlap with anything else there and will attract an early and mid day crowd. The only downside might be the off-property 50s Diner but even there the overlap is minimal.
As to Legacy Place being a disaster; it's not - of the local malls they're one of the healthiest. Yes the parking is a mess, thanks to Dedham's meddling. Frankly the best strategy is to ignore the central parking rife with homicidal soccer moms in oversized luxery SUVs and go directly to the parking garage. But the mall is certainly profitable and nearly full without any dead anchors.
Finally for 'its a toast resturaunt' - suuure, and McDonalds is Scottish cuisine.
Nice to see the Friendly
Nice to see the Friendly Toast expanding after shuttering the Kendall location near CBC and Mamaleh's some years ago. They're already taking over the former Besito in the Chestnut Hill mall, and it also looks like they're set to move into the erstwhile Grafton Street Pub in Harvard Square.
