FBI offers reward for info on stolen Boston Police uniforms

The FBI is offering $5,000 for information that leads to the arrest of whoever stole four pieces of BPD clothing from a uniform store in Weymouth last month:

If the line "53700 Clothing Allowance" in the itemized budget doc for public safety is what would reflect that expense.

Why would the FBI have anything to do with this?

There is concern.....
That the people stealing these uniforms may pose a security threat at one of the major events coming to Boston this year (Marathon/US Open).
I think it was probably a regular burglar looking for guns/knives etc but didn't find any and settled for this other stuff.
