Transit Police report they are looking for the three men they say smeared the PCC trolley stored at Boylston station with graffiti around midnight on Nov. 12.

Age
The thing that always surprises me about incidents like this is the age of the perpetrators. Although age is hard to discern clearly from the photos, they are definitely older than I would have expected. When does one outgrow this childish nonsense? When did criminal behavior become so immature?
Again?
Again? Why is it so easy for people to access this train/track area?
Why?
I can't imagine what goes through these people's minds when they do somerhing like this. Is this their idea of acheiving something?
Vandalism
When I read stories about vandalism (tagging in particular), I wonder what stop on the commuter line these guys came from. Rockland or Methuen? What's the over/under?
My thinking
The emo concert got out early and they were killing time waiting for Zach's mom to pick them up.
I promise
I'm not okay!
Emo?
What year are you posting from?
Vandals run amuk on the MBTA
The walls between Savin Hill and the Andrew Portal are covered with graffiti. A t-cop told me that vandals have been kicking out windows on trains and smashing windows on buses and trolleys. The T has a policy of removing trains and buses from service when vandals spray-paint them causing more delays in service due to a shortage of trains and buses. These three stooges need to be charged and hopefully the judge they appear before takes the T to work.
No reward?

Singapore has the solution
$2000 fine, up to 3 years in jail, and between 3 and 8 strokes of the cane. That’s the punishment for vandalism in Singapore, and they really do impose jail terms. A Swiss vandal got 5 months, he appealed, and they upped it to 7.
Singapore isn't the only solution
So, in Denmark, people refrain from spitting on the sidewalk because, hey, it's gross, and who wants to see or hear that? In Singapore, people refrain from spitting on the sidewalk because the government will fine you if you do. I know which society I'd rather inhabit....
Shouldn't deface monuments like old PCC cars
but I couldn't care less about tagging/"writing" on concrete highway supports, bare gray walls, and other brutal concrete. Livens things up. Some places in Europe like Italy are saturated with tags.
It's a global subculture.
People get angry about it out of all proportion to the crime.
Except...
...that in most cases, these "tags" are just as much of an eyesore as the bare gray walls and brutal concrete they're painted on.
Yeah
Or the tags are related to gangs or other things that aren't exactly creative art.
Instead of ignoring graffiti it would be better for the various agencies to accept and approve proposals for murals and other art. Other parts of the country are a lot better about incorporating art and artists into public works projects. It's the cheapest part of the project.
De gustibus non disputandum est
Personally, I like to see the name of the [in]famous SPEK or ALERT around
Old parts of the city

They should sponsor more street art. Problem is it becomes committee-approved shit.
Wish they were better artists
Wish they were better artists, maybe get more practice in before going after a historic landmark.
Hey, guys
Save some (expletive) for the rest of us.
