AP classes all around

Read the report on how few Boston public-school students are graduating college and then read what Mayor Menino and School Superintendent Carol Johnson want to do about it. Among their proposals: At least one AP or honors class for every BPS student by 2012, double the number of students taking college classes while still in high school and letting students out of school to take SAT prep classes.

That sounds as if it's a perfect plan! Less time in school!

Some kids arent ready for AP classes, how is forcing them in going to help. If the problem is they are not getting into college then focus on pushing college as an option and help find financial aide. If the problem is finishing college once they get in, well maybe they just were not ready. Maybe the answer is prep school post high school, help get those students ready before college arrives at their door step.

after considering the quality of my sex life, I've decided that I'm going to start dating supermodels at least once each year. That's the ticket - thanks for the idea, Mumbles.

These are the same kids who have to take remedial math classes when they go to college. Did the Boston Public School system buy a magic wand? Thes kids don't need Advanced Placement classes - they need Placement classes. Like "Place your ass in that seat and do your homework."
