Police say 11-year-old girl stole a car in Dorchester, but at least she was wearing a medical mask

Boston Police report the Covid-19-aware girl got on her gruffest voice and demanded a boy roll down the window of his car on Blue Hill Avenue at Greenlock Street in Dorchester last Wednesday night, while his mother was at a market there, then demanded he and cousin, also in the car, get out, which they did, and then she got in and drove away.
Police say officers caught up with the car about a mile and a half away, in Mattapan Square.
The female suspect was removed from the vehicle and taken into custody. The vehicle was successfully recovered by officers.
Further investigation revealed the female suspect to be 11-years-old and due to her age, officers were unable to charge the suspect with a crime. The suspect was released to the care of the Department of Children and Families.
Police add that it's against the law to leave an unattended car running, even if two boys are sitting in it.

How do you know this parent isn't a delivery driver for Instacart or Mercato and has no access to affordable childcare so has no choice but to take their kids along with them for deliveries? You hate people who drive for a living so much that you'd take away a parent's source of income. No empathy for working class people from Dorchester who have to have a car to work. I feel sorry for you that you have such disdain for your fellow city neighbors. Shame on you.

What do you know? In 2016, you did seem to think that kids can figure out the difference between good and bad, but come 2020, carjacking is just something kids do when they are young.
Juvenile Detention Centers
The youngsters in these centers aren't allowed parental visits, teaching and counseling are no longer available and they are locked up 23 hours a day. Wouldn't it be more compassionate to release them to their parents and monitor them with ankle bracelets.

I'm in my 50s and still don't know how to drive. This kids 11 and made it a mile and a half away. I'm slighty impressed.

Facts not in evidence
The police posting does not say that the car was running.
It also doesn't say how old the boys were. They could have been old enough to be left alone in a car. They even could have been of driving age for all we know.
It doesn't need to say how old the victims were
They were young enough to let a 12 year old order them out of the car. Developmentally, the victims were immature.
